A returning customer costs 5x less than a new one
Most sellers keep chasing new viewers and forget those who already bought. Yet they buy fastest: they know the quality, payment and delivery. A small loyalty program changes everything.
A simple 3-tier system
- The stamp: 1 live purchase = 1 point. 5 points = 10% off the next live. Track points in a notebook, announce balances live.
- Referral: "bring a friend who buys, you both earn a bonus". The referrer names her friend in the chat, you check the order.
- The VIP circle: your 20 best customers join a WhatsApp group with previews and one private live per month.
Announce the program live
- At the start: "loyal customers earn points tonight, referred new customer = bonus for both".
- During: call out earned points: "Fatou moves to 4 points, one more for 10% off".
- At the end: remind the next VIP live and how to join.
Measure what works
After each live, note: how many customers returned, how many came from referrals. If referrals exceed 20% of buyers, slightly increase the reward.
FAQ: loyalty and referrals
Do I need complex software?
No. A table with names and points is enough to start. Consistency matters more than tooling.
Won't referrals hurt my margins?
A bonus bringing a paying new customer costs far less than ads. Cap it at 10% of the average basket.
