Why social proof sells live
In West Africa, people buy on recommendation: "my neighbour bought it, it is good". During a live, this effect is multiplied: when a viewer sees other customers buying and testifying, they decide. Your job: make this proof visible at the right moment.
1. Collect usable reviews
- The post-delivery message: 48h after receipt, ask for a photo and one sentence ("received in Yopougon in 2 days, perfect size").
- The WhatsApp screenshot: with the customer's consent, capture their satisfaction message.
- The in-app rating: invite every buyer to rate the product on SuguLive.
2. Use them during the live
- Read one review per product: "Awa from Treichville says: the wig looks exactly like in the video". Stronger than any pitch.
- Pin positive comments in the chat when former customers join.
- Invite a customer live for 2 minutes to tell her story. Brief her before the live.
3. Display them on your store
Keep your 5 best reviews visible on each product page. A product with 10 positive reviews sells even outside lives. Add a clear exchange policy.
Mistakes to avoid
- Inventing fake reviews: one discovered lie destroys all trust.
- Showing only perfect reviews: "delivery a bit slow but product great" is more credible than ten "perfect".
- Forgetting to ask: 8 out of 10 customers leave a review when simply asked.
